S11-029/30 Sunday Football Relocated

AASL Football Players,

Unfortunately, yesterday's rain storm resulted in H.B. Woodlawn being closed today.  Given that Easter Sunday is next weekend ... I really hate to cancel games today.  Plus the weather doesn't get any better than this.

It's not a perfect plan, but we're moving everything to our kickball fields near the Washington Monument.  The alternative is to cancel games outright and risk future losing another rain-out date.  Games will be played near 15th St. NW and Constitution Ave. NW.  The nearest metro station is Federal Triangle (Orange/Blue).  Parking is very difficult so we don't recommend driving.  And if you do drive, then we recommend parking away from the mall.  Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled game.

Click here for a map of the Consolidated Field Plan:  http://www.chasekickballs.com/storage/files/Sunday-April-17-Plan.jpg

Welcome Message from DCSSC GM Jack Fan

Thanks for signing up with the Spring 2011 Flag Football season with the Arlington Athletic & Social League. Don't forget to add the Arlington County Inclement Weather Hotline to your phone. In case of rain or the likelihood of rain, Arlington County makes the final call whether games are canceled or not. This number is 703-228-4715.

May 15 - Great Urban Race

CHASE Sports Group is proud to be the local sports league partner of The Great Urban Race. Haven't heard about the Great Urban Race? Well, simply put, its a wacky urban adventure. Teams of two solve twelve clues, have a wild city adventure and complete fun challenges while discovering the city in a fresh way! E-mail jack@playaasl.com to find out how you can win a free team entree or use the promo code CHASESPORT to get a $5 discount. The objectives are simple: (1) to have fun; (2) to have a city adventure; (3) to properly compete all the clues first.

Each team will be given an envelope that contains twelve or more clues ranging in difficulty at the start of the race. The clue sheet will contain a mixture of clues – some physical and some mental. During the race teams will have the option to skip one clue. Most races contain one or more Detours, which is a choice between two checkpoints. Choose the one you think will be easier or faster (or more fun). There may be a clue that is mandatory. Failure to complete a mandatory clue will result in disqualification. Teams will not have the option to skip a mandatory clue. For every incorrect or incomplete clue, a 30 minute penalty will be added to the team’s finish time. Teams will not have the option of returning to properly complete any incomplete or incorrect clue.
