UPCOMING EVENTS:

DC UNITED TAILGATE THIS SATURDAY, MAY 7: D.C. United is hosting Social Sports Night on Saturday, May 7th, for local leagues that cater to young adults who want to drink, be social, and play sports. You can bet that CHASE Kickball will be there to host the Most Kickin' Tailgate Party with beer, jello shots, hotdogs and more! The tailgate starts at 3pm in Lot 8. Get your discounted tickets for the game at 7:30 using promo code DCU at https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/go.htmI?l=EN&t=dcunited&o=2913376&g=1383

LAST MAN STANDING: 19th Bar announces the Last Man Standing Competition. The basic idea behind this weekly challenge is the bar will keep track of what team has the most members at the bar at midnight every Thursday and Sunday through the rest of the season. 19th will create a Leader's Board to be displayed at the bar as well as post each week's results on Facebook and Twitter. At the end of the season, 19th will reward the team who repped their team the longest and strongest with a keg of Miller Lite at the end of season party.

BOOZE CRUISE: July 16 is Booze Cruise III: The Search for Stoli. This event is always fun and always sells out so do not miss out!  Registration is open! $45 for members and $55 for guests.  Check out the link for more information: http://www.chasekickballs.com/home/tickets-on-sale-for-booze-cruise-iii-the-search-for-stoli.html. Registered players should use discount code DISC-NON-280.

SPIRIT WEEK: Sunday May 22 (Week 5 games) will be Spirit Week!  Each team gets a chance to express their team spirit however they choose. Last season we had a team of Pirates, a team of Ninjas, and a team of insane people in costumes (not sure how else to describe XME's theme). Use your imagination, be creative, and have fun! Prizes will be awarded for the most spirited teams, so start planning early.

See you all on the fields and at the bar next Sunday, May 15th!

Spring 2011 - Easter Break

Happy Thursday everyone! It's a beautiful day today and we hope you can all get outside and enjoy it at some point!

PLEASE NOTE: NO GAMES THIS SUNDAY DUE TO EASTER!  Our next scheduled game is Sunday May 1st.  Although there is no kickball, you have a free Sunday and it is a perfect time to practice your flip cup skills!

WEEK 2 RECAP:
For the most part, Week 2 went very well. Not having Kite Festival made things much easier!  Last week saw the following scores:

TWT 0,   WHJ 18                    DKP 3, WKB 1
ORG 15, STG 9                      OKW 25, SRB 1
DRK 11, McG 12                    XME 9, !?! 6

STANDINGS:
With those scores, we find ourselves with the current standings:

1, DKP                   7.  STG
1. OKW                  8.  XW3
3. McG                   9.  DRK
4. ORG                   10. WKB
5. WHJ                   11.  !?!
6. XME                   12.  TWT

With two weeks down, the defending champs, DKP, are tied for the lead with One Kick Wonders.  Both McGiblets and Orange Iguanas are still undefeated so things are still up in the air!

WEEK 3 GAMES (May 1):

2PM Games                                                      3PM Games
Field A: DKP v XME   Ref: TWT                           Field A: TWT v !?!       Ref: DRK
Field B: DRK v ORG   Ref: OKW                         Field B: McG v OKW  Ref: WKB
Field C: WHJ v WKB  Ref: STG                           Field C: XW3 v STG       Ref: XME

BE ON TIME: Even though it was mentioned last week, it is worth repeating.  Please be at the fields on time!  Unlike in years past, there are now penalties for not being there on time. Hopefully you all read the rules and saw that! You don't want your team to be down two runs because they were not ready to play until 10 minutes after scheduled start! Please plan appropriately!  Beware of both traffic delays and possible track-work on the Metro!

REFFING: If it is your team's turn to ref, please make sure you are on time to ref.  Make sure that the people reffing know the rules and are capable of reffing (read: not sloppily drunk).  We would like to reward teams for reffing but if the people you choose to ref are incapable to properly reffing, we will start taking away said reward for those refs.  It isn't fair to the other teams you are reffing.

See you all on the fields and at the bar next Sunday, May 1st! It'll be a great day for kickball!

Spring 2011 Week 2

Happy Saturday to you all! We hope you all are staying dry and warm on this incredibly rainy and somewhat miserable day. This week seemed to fly, and before we knew it we're one day away from the Week 2 games!

Before we get into the details of last week and tomorrow, we'd like to note that Suprise Bitches' new abbreviation will be XW3. So no, there's no new team, just an abbreviation change.

Week 1 Recap
Before we get to talking about Week 2, let's first discuss Week 1. Awesome week, all! Everyone played excellent games, and it looks like it'll be a competitive and interesting season for all teams. Last week saw the following scores:

DKP 10, !?! 0                     OKW 3, TWT 0
DRK 2, XW3 3                   McG 13, WKB 2
XME 5, ORG 8                   STG 4, WHJ 3

With those scores, we find ourselves with the current standings:

1, DKP                   7.  DRK
1. OKW                  7.  TWT
3. McG                   9.  WHJ
3. XW3                   10. XME
5. STG                   11.  !?!
6. ORG                  12.  WKB

With one week down, the defending champs lead the pack. Of course, it's only week 1, so expect to see these standings change significantly! It's only Week 1! It's still any team's race to place first!

Week 2 Games

Unlike today, tomorrow should be a very nice day. More importantly, the Kite Festival won't be going on! That should make things go much more smoothly! Games this week are as such:

2PM Games                                                      3PM Games
Field A: TWT v WHJ   Ref: !?!

Field A: DKP v WKB   Ref: DRK
Field B: ORG v STG   Ref: DKP                           Field B: OKW v XW3  Ref: ORG
Field C: DRK v McG   Ref: XW3                           Field C: XME v !?!       Ref: WHJ

Please be at the fields on time. Unlike in years past, there are now penalties for not being there on time. Hopefully you all read the rules and saw that! You don't want your team to be down two runs because they were not ready to play until 10 minutes after scheduled start! Please plan appropriately!  Beware of trackwork on the Red and Blue Lines, and the Orange Line closure in Maryland!

See you all on the fields and at the bar tomorrow! It'll be a great day for kickball!
