Spring 2011 - Easter Break
Happy Thursday everyone! It's a beautiful day today and we hope you can all get outside and enjoy it at some point!
PLEASE NOTE: NO GAMES THIS SUNDAY DUE TO EASTER! Our next scheduled game is Sunday May 1st. Although there is no kickball, you have a free Sunday and it is a perfect time to practice your flip cup skills!
WEEK 2 RECAP:
For the most part, Week 2 went very well. Not having Kite Festival made things much easier! Last week saw the following scores:
TWT 0, WHJ 18 DKP 3, WKB 1
ORG 15, STG 9 OKW 25, SRB 1
DRK 11, McG 12 XME 9, !?! 6
STANDINGS:
With those scores, we find ourselves with the current standings:
1, DKP 7. STG
1. OKW 8. XW3
3. McG 9. DRK
4. ORG 10. WKB
5. WHJ 11. !?!
6. XME 12. TWT
With two weeks down, the defending champs, DKP, are tied for the lead with One Kick Wonders. Both McGiblets and Orange Iguanas are still undefeated so things are still up in the air!
WEEK 3 GAMES (May 1):
2PM Games 3PM Games
Field A: DKP v XME Ref: TWT Field A: TWT v !?! Ref: DRK
Field B: DRK v ORG Ref: OKW Field B: McG v OKW Ref: WKB
Field C: WHJ v WKB Ref: STG Field C: XW3 v STG Ref: XME
BE ON TIME: Even though it was mentioned last week, it is worth repeating. Please be at the fields on time! Unlike in years past, there are now penalties for not being there on time. Hopefully you all read the rules and saw that! You don't want your team to be down two runs because they were not ready to play until 10 minutes after scheduled start! Please plan appropriately! Beware of both traffic delays and possible track-work on the Metro!
REFFING: If it is your team's turn to ref, please make sure you are on time to ref. Make sure that the people reffing know the rules and are capable of reffing (read: not sloppily drunk). We would like to reward teams for reffing but if the people you choose to ref are incapable to properly reffing, we will start taking away said reward for those refs. It isn't fair to the other teams you are reffing.
SPIRIT WEEK: Sunday May 22 (Week 5 games) will be Spirit Week! Each team gets a chance to express their team spirit however they choose. Last season we had a team of Pirates, a team of Ninjas, and a team of insane people in costumes (not sure how else to describe XME's theme). Use your imagination, be creative, and have fun! Prizes will be awarded for the most spirited teams, so start planning early.
See you all on the fields and at the bar next Sunday, May 1st! It'll be a great day for kickball!
